Hello family.
In the past 2 weeks, this website has undergone a few changes. So I encourage you to spend some time browsing the site, after reading this article of course.
The advent of social media has given everyone a platform. Now, everyone’s opinion has a voice. Humans have also realized that although we are in different parts of the word, we can all #relate to certain experiences. And as we begin to learn more about other people, we see value and wisdom in their ideas. A positive effect of this is that our minds are opening to more possibilities.
One trend on #twitter some time ago was #unpopularopinion. This was a very interesting one. People shared opinions they thought were held on to by a few people only to realize that many other people already held on to those views. Others who didn’t, saw a lot of wisdom in some of those opinions and subscribed to them in no time.
Whether you like it or not, the way you think has been influenced by something you saw on instagram. At least I know my fashion sense has changed a little bit. I have also stressed a few barbers here and there because of some pictures I saw on my explore pages. Seamstresses have……see, let’s not go down that road.
All I’m trying to say is that social media has impacted us greatly. But how can we be sure that it doesn’t take us away from the Truth?
This is pretty concerning to me because almost every day, I see something new we are asked to #normalize. I see a discovery someone has made on his or her journey to discovering herself gain a lot of traction. The sincere and honest truth is that, very few of these philosophies that are well received by the masses have God at the core. Many of them reinforce a culture of selfishness, and in no way synchronize with the heartbeat of God. It is alarming the way many Christians subscribe to these, especially after supporting them with a twisted scripture taken out of context.
We really need to be alert. There is no way a believer and unbeliever can think alike. The mind of a believer is supposed to have undergone high-level transformation. The believer has his mind and heart set on things above. You think these ideas afford you some enlightenment and freedom, but it’s a trap to derail you from the Truth.
I want to encourage you to spend quality time in the Word. Family, let us know the word on a deep level. I am told that people who specialize in detecting fake currencies spend hours observing the real notes. Immediately they see a fake one they can tell, because they have spent time with the real deal. If only we would spend time with God and His Word, we would be able to quickly detect the lies when they come glittering across our screens.
My heart beat and prayer for you is that you will know and hold on to the Truth, and not just what works for you. Know and old on to the Truth and find the freedom and peace it brings. Shalom friends. I love you very much. Do have a blessed week.
